Abstract
The objective of the Permanent Education (PE) program of the University of the Republic (Udelar) is to update the training of university graduates, mainly responding to increasingly demanding demands in the employment market. Precisely, this work proposes to characterize the students of the PE program, those who come to continue training. Both in their socio-demographic profile, and in their option to choose virtual teaching as a form of professional updating. To account for this phenomenon, we will use the 2021 Student Survey as our primary data source to illustrate these differences. Knowing how the different social inequalities impact will allow the PE program to allocate more resources where continuous training is weaker.
