Abstract
This work focuses on the professionalization of Anthropology in Uruguay, considering our profession within the labour work and the social anthropologists as integral subjects of it. The text contextualizes the emergence of the discipline and its development within the framework of the humanities. It also presents data obtained in the execution of the research project entitled «Trajecto- ries of graduates of fhce 1996-2010», carried out during the years 2014-2015. The project focuses on the analysis of the career and the academic trajectories of graduates of the Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay). This paper also provides elements to contribute with the discussion between the academic practice and the professional of social anthropology, visualizing a space that allows the joint analysis of them .
