Abstract
The training of the university professional is one of the most important social tasks for Higher Education. Numerous researchers insist on comprehensive views of it, which implies its mainstreaming in the substantive functions of the university. However, the unitary consensus around these general statements is fragmented and then diversified in specific scenarios. The present work - which responds to a CEPES research project [1] - tries to contribute to this debate. The authors conducted a content analysis of contemporary scientific policy documents and texts in the Cuban context. Results are presented on the approach to the training of the university professional. Finally, ideas are proposed that, more than conclusions, aim to provoke reflection on this unfinished and controversial topic.
