Abstract
Thinking and making possible a university-based lifeguard training necessarily implies building an overall vision, which, without losing sight of the historical perspective of the profession, adds academic contributions that manage to fit it to the university logic. The current situation of society and of the University of the Republic, demand to be able to transcend disciplinary boundaries and consolidate flexible structures of knowledge production that do not clog the potential of knowledge. This paper aims to account for certain elements that emerge and stiffen the process of curricular construction of a possible Lifeguard Technicature, of the Higher Institute of Physical Education of the University of the Republic.
